For heating and air-conditioning installers

Heat-and-cool enquiries you don't share.

Every month we post letters under your name to the best-fit homes in up to 5 postcode districts: big, extended, owner-occupied houses with room for an outdoor unit. This winter the letters lead with heating. Homeowners reply to you, and no other installer on our list writes to your districts while you hold them.

Pilot: 500 letters for £600, one payment · or £149 a month + £0.95 a letter · printing and postage included

    recorded on the energy certificate

Never a listed building, never a home that already has a heat pump. 11% already have solar panels; 30% were built since 2000.

The data

What we know about a house before we write to it

We read 20 million energy certificates and four other public datasets, and score every owner-occupied home in England on the building alone. This is one record: the house behind the sample letter.

What we never hold

Names, ages, incomes, phone numbers or emails. We profile the house, not the people in it. Addresses come from Ordnance Survey's licensed address data, are used only to post the letter, and never go to installers.

Where it comes from

  • EPCEnergy Performance Certificate register
  • IMD 2019English Indices of Deprivation 2019
  • Census 2021Census 2021, how people travel to work
  • Historic EnglandNational Heritage List for England
  • Planning dataplanning.data.gov.uk conservation and Article 4 areas

An energy certificate records why it was made; this one was made to put the house on the market. Certificates made since June 2025 no longer record glazing area, so they score nothing for it. Score v2.1.0; points rounded to one decimal.

Why letters

Winter's quiet. Shared leads don't fill it.

From October to March you have the capacity. Marketplace enquiries go to several firms at once, and search ads only reach people who are already looking.
  • Not shared

One installer per postcode district. A homeowner who replies has ticked a box naming you, and nobody else.

  • Before they search

Letters reach homeowners who haven't started looking yet, in the districts you choose, in months when few people search for air conditioning.

  • Nothing to run

No ads to manage, no bidding, no credits. We score the homes, print and post the letters, and pass you the replies.

How it works

Letters under your name. Replies to you.

You give us your brand and choose your districts. We do the rest.
  1. Step 1: We score every home

Every owner-occupied home in England, from the Energy Performance Certificate register: size, build, extensions, rooms in the roof, glazing, solar. Listed buildings and homes that already have a heat pump are left out. No names, no electoral roll: we profile the house, not the person.

  2. Step 2: You choose up to 5 districts

One installer per postcode district. While you hold a district, nobody else on our list is written to there.

  3. Step 3: You approve, we post

You approve the letter and your first batch. Then we post one-page letters under your name to the best-scoring homes, addressed to “The Homeowner”, with your phone number, a QR code and a short reply link.

  4. Step 4: Replies come to you

A homeowner who replies leaves their name, number and best time to call, and ticks a box agreeing to hear from you. You never get the address list.

Sample letter

This is what lands on the doormat

A detached house built since 2000. From October to March the letter leads with heating; from April it leads with cooling. The facts about the house come from its energy certificate, never from anything about the people in it.

  • Your name, phone number and website at the top; your sign-off at the bottom.
  • One sentence about the house: its type, its age, an extension, rooms in the roof, solar.
  • A careful line on planning: heat-and-cool systems are usually permitted development, cooling-only units are not.
  • A QR code, your phone number and a short link. One scan opens a reply page in your name.
  • Marked as marketing, with a data-source line and an opt-out, as the rules require.

The installer on it, Bramwell Air Comfort (a fictional demo installer), is invented, and so are the address and phone numbers. Everything else is what our system prints.

The terms, in plain words

One installer per district
While you hold a district, nobody else on our list is written to there.
Paying is what holds a district
A request doesn't hold anything. We confirm availability by email within one working day, then send a payment link.
Your money back if we're late
Your first letters are posted within 2 weeks of payment, or we refund you in full.
Nothing renews by itself
The pilot is one payment. Afterwards you carry on monthly, or stop.
You never hold the address list
You get the replies. The addresses stay with us, which keeps it legal for both of us.
What a job is worth
A printed, posted letter costs under a pound. A heat-and-cool installation is worth thousands.

FAQ

Questions installers ask us

What response do you get?

We haven't posted a campaign yet, so we don't quote one. Every batch keeps 10% of the chosen homes unmailed as a control group, so you see the real figure for your own districts.

Checkatrade or Google is cheaper per lead. Why this?

Per lead, they may well be. These enquiries aren't shared with other firms, they come from homeowners who weren't searching yet, they keep coming in the quiet months, and there's nothing for you to run. Keep the channels that work for you and add this one.

Can I have the addresses?

No. You get the people who replied and agreed to hear from you: their name, phone number and best time to call. Keeping the addresses with us is what keeps this legal for both of us.

What about planning permission?

A heat-and-cool system is usually permitted development; a cooling-only unit normally needs an application. Flats and conservation areas have extra limits, and we never write to listed buildings. The letter tells homeowners to check with their council, and so should you.

Where does the data come from, and is this allowed?

From the national Energy Performance Certificate register and other public property records. We hold no names and use no electoral roll: every letter goes to “The Homeowner”. Post is outside the electronic-marketing rules; we write on the basis of legitimate interests, screen every mailing against the Mailing Preference Service, and anyone who asks us to stop is never written to again.

I'm a heating firm. Is this for me?

If you hold F-Gas certification and fit air-to-air systems, yes. We check your certificate before your first letter. We don't sell boiler or water-based heat pump leads.

When would my first letters go out?

Within 2 weeks of payment, or you get your money back. We're finishing our address licence and registration now. You approve the letter and your first batch before anything is posted.

Get started

Tell us your districts

Name up to 5 postcode districts and how to reach you. We'll check availability and confirm by email within one working day. If one is already held, or doesn't have enough homes on our list, we'll say so and suggest nearby districts that do.

Then we send a payment link for the pilot, or for the monthly plan if you'd rather start there (say so in the notes). A request doesn't hold a district; paying does.

Request your districts
